The station building no longer exists, just the remains of a platform, the only construction extant being the railwayman's cottage. The station was only some 600 metres from the centre of the village. Probably a good braking point for the locos that had climbed the incline from Guadix Station (1 in 52 over 11Km).
As with many of these stations, most of the business would have been agricultural products. There were iron ore trains passing through regularly.
