14.11Km. Track now a green route connecting to that of Hijate to Serón. The iron bridge is well worth a visit. A very steep part, going up 141 metres in 14.11km (1 in 100) up to Hijate at 974.4 metres (3,200ft), including 570m at 1 in 27 for which reason it snakes out cross country. Even so, the iron ore trains required triple headers. Probably the easiest of all of the sections to lay, with over 12km on flat land with hardly any bridges or culverts. In addition there are the remains of Valcabra Bridge. A scenic part of the railway.
